Dear friend of Farmers Helping Farmers,
Since our last newsletter, our lives have changed profoundly, and with the discovery of two cases of COVID-19 in Meru County in late May, the lives of our Kenyan staff and farm families are likely to see more impacts as well. The future is unclear – but we can say, with certainty, that FHF’s work over time and especially in the past year has put our Kenyan partners in a far stronger situation to cope with whatever lies ahead. Our Spring Newsletter, attached, describes some of this vital work, and we are optimistic that it will continue.
Here at home, because of COVID-19, Farmers Helping Farmers has had to make the difficult decision to cancel this year's Beef Barbecue. The Village Feast has also been postponed until 2021.
With the loss of these two important fundraisers, we will need support from our community more than ever for our work to continue. In the fall, as our Holiday Campaign nears, we will have a better sense of changing needs and priorities.
We hope you will take some time to check out our newsletter, including some very exciting news about a children's book coming this fall, a wonderful way to celebrate our 40th anniversary.
Thank you as always for your interest and support for our work.
