A group of students at Kinkora High School found a unique way to fundraise for a school in Kenya.
The Grade 11 and 12 students are part of the Agricultural Academy Diploma Program. The Aggies, as they call themselves, are interested in becoming twinned with a school in Kenya through Farmers Helping Farmers. The 'Buy a Cookie, Buy a Goat' fundraiser was their first step in the process!
On December 22nd, the Aggies sold a glass of ADL milk and a homemade cookie for a loonie - and raised $88! That's a lot of milk and cookies.
The funds have now been forwarded to Kenya where a goat will be purchased and donated to a school.
The Aggies have named the goat "Charlie".
We will add photos of the goat as soon as they are available.
